City Plans to Install More Drinkable Tap Water for Pedestrians

Tap water is provided to encourage people to reduce disposable plastic use

Jakarta Provincial Government plans to install more drinkable tap water on several sidewalks, bus shelters, and train stations in Jakarta.

Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah conveyed, his side is currently surveying strategic locations to install tap water.

"Tap water is provided to encourage people to reduce disposable plastic use. It facilitates them to get water for free just by refilling their bottle," he mentioned, Friday (8/30).

 

He assessed, this innovation is not only reducing plastic waste in Jakarta, but also considered effective to change people's lifestyle to be healthier.

"We are still preparing it. Our plan is to install tap water in locations often passed by pedestrians," he explained.
